Azoogle Ringtone Landing Pages

I see several people coming here after searching for Azoogle, Azoogle ringtones, and a few other Azoogle topics. If you are looking for ringtone landing page examples, here are some simple tricks.
Google your keyword and visit the first 10 listings. I mean the organic search results, not the PPC ads. You can certainly check out the PPC ads, but just remember one thing. All they did to get on that first page was pay for it. The organic search results are there because they have designed their landing pages in a way that is very pleasing to the search engine gods. I don’t know if they sacrificed any goats to the search engine gods, but you can’t put anything past an SEO.

Go through those top 10 web pages for your keyword and you can see examples of what other people are doing. This is a good way to get an idea of what people are doing and to see what people are talking about when you hear them discuss landing pages on webmasterradio.fm and other shows. If you are having trouble picturing the landing pages people are talking about, this is a good way to see what they mean. It is also a good way to find out the tricks the big players are using to rank high for your keywords.

This isn’t how you should model all of your web pages though. The top 10 are way ahead of you and will have a much easier time staying ahead of you than you catching them. What you have to do is find an angle they have missed. You have to find out what people are searching for and cater to their searches.

Updates

I am finally getting some organic traffic on one of my websites. None of my sites are very old so it is nice to see some steady organic traffic coming in. Most of it does not come from Google though. I think Google only displays about dot com and wikipedia dot com search results these days. I can definitely understand some of Googles concern regarding made for adsense sites because Googles search results quality has really dropped. I wonder if people will start getting like me and pretty much ignoring the first page of my search results. I either do that or hit Live Search or Yahoo. Anyway, the traffic is clicking and buying so that is sweet. Read more…

The Only Way to Work

This my friends is the only way to work.

Domains and Websites for sale

I frequent all the usual forums in the SEO, PPC, and affiliate marketing community and often browse through the websites and domain names that are for sale. The level of junk that is for sale makes me think of a good point. The point is, do you really think someone would be selling a homerun? No, they are not selling a homerun. They are selling junk. This seems to be especially true of the $x,xxx and under domains and websites. If some of the crap names people think are worth thousands are really worth that, then I am sitting on a gold mine. maybe one day I will find that hidden gem for sale and cheap. That is enough reason to keep looking through the ads.

The little things in life

I am sitting here this fine Saturday morning enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee and going through my site stats when I notice an interesting keyword someone used to find my site. I thought about it for a moment then remembered a post I had made and used the particular phrase. My next move was to hop over to shoemoney.com and use his handy SERP tool to check my position for the phrase. To my astonishment, www.jasonpoteet.com ranks number 4 on MSN for “monkey throwing shit” (probably number 1 after this post). I think I’ll call mom today. I bet she would be proud.

Elite Retreat

Shoemoney is part of a new evolution of the webmaster conferences. You can find more info at Elite Retreat. Basically what it boils down to is about 30 webmasters will get to sit down for a 2 day classroom type discussion with well known webmasters including Jeremy Schoemaker and Aaron Wall. Everyone knows who Shoemoney is and Aaron Wall wrote the book on SEO (No, really he did. I bought a copy a few weeks ago and am halfway through it. Great book You can find it at SEO Book).  The event should be an awesome experience for webmasters in the SEO, SEM, Arbitrage, and PPC business.  I record Shoemoney’s Net Income show on webmasterradio.fm and listen to it in the car going to work, so I know how open and helpful he is too all of us who are starting out in this business.  Head over and check it out, it sounds like a blast.

Walk The Line

I was watching Walk The Line last night when something occurred to me.  The real visionaries aren’t looking for landing pages to copy and send traffic too.   The visionaries are already out working on the next big thing.  I know this is kinda common sense, but it is something I want to remind myself of from time to time.  I am currently playing catch up in the affiliate marketing world sending traffic to ringtone landing pages and looking for the next big thing.  That is the same thing a lot of you, who read my blog, are doing.  There is nothing wrong with us doing that because we can make money doing it.  The only problem is when we don’t allow ourselves to be visionaries. Don’t pigeon hole yourself by always copying what the other big players are doing.  Always save a little of your time working on your own Next Big Thing.

Stylin Online

Stylin Online - T-Shirts
Ok, is this not the coolest store? I found this site today and thought is was very cool. They have all kinds of shirts, hats, accessories and all that kinda stuff. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Godaddy Domain Control Panel

I logged into www.GoDaddy.com to make some DNS changes for one of my sites and was very excited to see a completely new interface.  The new interface absolutely rocks.  It is set up like a file explorer and you can create folders for organizing your domains, easily switch between current domains, backorder domains, domain transfer, and all kind of other little features.  Awesome upgrade Godaddy!

Commission Junction Review

I have been planning on reviewing my first 2 months at Commission Junction for a while so I guess now is as good of a time as any. Commission Junction is the big boy on the block when it comes to affiliate marketing. They have a very large selection of advertisers and an excellent interface. The interface is head and shoulders better than everyone else and the reporting is also top notch.

Commission Junction also offers “SmartZones” which are very handy if you aren’t a pure programmer. A SmartZone allows you to pick an ad size and create a group of ads that will randomly rotate on your page. The SmartZone creates a small script that you place on your website where you want your ad to display. Once you place that script on your site, you don’t have to change the website code to change the ads. All you have to do is add or remove the ads in your Commission Junction SmartZone settings. This makes changing your adds a breeze.

There is a great variety of ads as well. You have all the standard ad sizes plus text ads, keyword ads, content ads, and product catalogs.  My biggest success yet has been a CJ content ad I put up on a domain and started sending PPC traffic to it.  It has a CTR of over 27% and the EPC is over $40.

If I had to find something bad to say about Commission Junction I guess it would be you are a small fish in the pond there.  If I have an account manager there I don’t know it and I have yet to have any emails I sent to advertisers answered.

I really have to give Commission Junction a good grade as an Affiliate marketer. They provide good products, good tools, and good payouts.  If you are going to run a legitimate affiliate marketing  business, you have to have CJ in your arsenal of tools.
