I see several people coming here after searching for Azoogle, Azoogle ringtones, and a few other Azoogle topics. If you are looking for ringtone landing page examples, here are some simple tricks.
Google your keyword and visit the first 10 listings. I mean the organic search results, not the PPC ads. You can certainly check out the PPC ads, but just remember one thing. All they did to get on that first page was pay for it. The organic search results are there because they have designed their landing pages in a way that is very pleasing to the search engine gods. I don’t know if they sacrificed any goats to the search engine gods, but you can’t put anything past an SEO.
Go through those top 10 web pages for your keyword and you can see examples of what other people are doing. This is a good way to get an idea of what people are doing and to see what people are talking about when you hear them discuss landing pages on webmasterradio.fm and other shows. If you are having trouble picturing the landing pages people are talking about, this is a good way to see what they mean. It is also a good way to find out the tricks the big players are using to rank high for your keywords.
This isn’t how you should model all of your web pages though. The top 10 are way ahead of you and will have a much easier time staying ahead of you than you catching them. What you have to do is find an angle they have missed. You have to find out what people are searching for and cater to their searches.

I am finally getting some organic traffic on one of my websites. None of my sites are very old so it is nice to see some steady organic traffic coming in. Most of it does not come from Google though. I think Google only displays about dot com and wikipedia dot com search results these days. I can definitely understand some of Googles concern regarding made for adsense sites because Googles search results quality has really dropped. I wonder if people will start getting like me and pretty much ignoring the first page of my search results. I either do that or hit Live Search or Yahoo. Anyway, the traffic is clicking and buying so that is sweet. continue

I frequent all the usual forums in the SEO, PPC, and affiliate marketing community and often browse through the websites and domain names that are for sale. The level of junk that is for sale makes me think of a good point. The point is, do you really think someone would be selling a homerun? No, they are not selling a homerun. They are selling junk. This seems to be especially true of the $x,xxx and under domains and websites. If some of the crap names people think are worth thousands are really worth that, then I am sitting on a gold mine. maybe one day I will find that hidden gem for sale and cheap. That is enough reason to keep looking through the ads.

I am sitting here this fine Saturday morning enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee and going through my site stats when I notice an interesting keyword someone used to find my site. I thought about it for a moment then remembered a post I had made and used the particular phrase. My next move was to hop over to shoemoney.com and use his handy SERP tool to check my position for the phrase. To my astonishment, www.jasonpoteet.com ranks number 4 on MSN for “monkey throwing shit” (probably number 1 after this post). I think I’ll call mom today. I bet she would be proud.

Shoemoney is part of a new evolution of the webmaster conferences. You can find more info at Elite Retreat. Basically what it boils down to is about 30 webmasters will get to sit down for a 2 day classroom type discussion with well known webmasters including Jeremy Schoemaker and Aaron Wall. Everyone knows who Shoemoney is and Aaron Wall wrote the book on SEO (No, really he did. I bought a copy a few weeks ago and am halfway through it. Great book You can find it at SEO Book). The event should be an awesome experience for webmasters in the SEO, SEM, Arbitrage, and PPC business. I record Shoemoney’s Net Income show on webmasterradio.fm and listen to it in the car going to work, so I know how open and helpful he is too all of us who are starting out in this business. Head over and check it out, it sounds like a blast.
